Service Information
Condition:
Some customers may comment that during the first few stops the vehicle feels like the brakes are grabbing excessively. In addition, the tires may chirp and/or leave skid marks during braking.
Possible Cause:
This condition may be caused by high spots or a mirror-like finish between the drum and the brake shoe.
Correction:
Remove high spots from drum surface finish.
Service Procedure
Refinish the brake drums. Inspect the rear axle or wheel cylinder for leaks. Inspect the brake shoes and lining for wear and/or contamination.
